Seven tied for lead in Byron Nelson event
IRVING, Texas, (UPI) -- Seven players shared the first-round lead Friday in the rain-delayed Byron Nelson Championship in Texas.
The field completed the opening round in the morning at the TPC Four Seasons course in Irving and the players went straight to the second round.
Former PGA Champion Steve Elkington was among the leaders at 4-under-par 66. The others were his fellow Australians, Jason Day, Jarrod Lyle and Michael Sim, and U.S. players Blake Adams, Hunter Mahan and Joe Durant.
Defending champion Rory Sabbatini completed the round with a 68, just behind a large group at 67.
The second round got under way before all the players had finished the first round.
